Anti-Embolism Stockings

What is an embolism?  And why do we need special stockings to prevent them?  In this lesson, we will answer these questions and review some other types of embolism and deep vein thrombosis, or DVT, preventions.  A DVT can have potentially fatal consequences, so we will identify priority assessments and interventions that nurses need to be familiar with.  Finally we will talk about how to apply and remove anti-embolism stockings in addition to important client education topics.
