Aplastic Anemia

In this lesson, we will identify what aplastic anemia is and some factors that can cause it.  We will go over signs and symptoms of aplastic anemia that nurses will be assessing for and introduce diagnostic testing used to differentiate different this type of anemia from other types.  We will then go over some potential complications of aplastic anemia along with some of the most common medications and treatment options. Finally we will review important nursing interventions, safety precautions, and client teaching topics to help prevent infection and complications.
