Biophysical Profile (BPP)

In this lesson we will discuss Biophysical Profile by ultrasound, common assessments and related scores that are part of the test. We will also cover priority nursing interventions associated with assisting with this test.

At the end of this lesson, the learner will be able to:

1. Describe Biophysical Profile by ultrasound and 2-3 fetal assessments measured during the test
2. Describe the BPP scoring system
3. Identify 3 nursing tasks to complete prior to transvaginal ultrasound, and 1-2 tasks to complete after the ultrasound
