Breastfeeding

In this course, we will cover the benefits of Breastfeeding to mom and baby, and attributes of breastmilk. Then we will explore assessments and the priority nursing interventions related to breastfeeding.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this lesson, the learner will be able to:

1. Describe 2-3  attributes of breast milk beneficial to the newborn, and 2-3 ways breastfeeding benefits women.  
2. Describe 2-3 nursing interventions that support breastfeeding. Describe typical nursing frequency and pattern in the newborn.
3. Identify patterns of wets/stools that indicate infant is getting adequate breast milk.
