Burn Injury

In this lesson, we will describe common causes of burn injuries along with tissue and body damage that can occur.  We will then review degrees of burn injuries along with how to assess the extent of damage. Priority nursing interventions will be explained along with treatments and medications used to manage burn injuries.  Side effects and considerations for medications will also be explored followed by management of potential complications of severe burns. Finally we will go through client teaching topics on preventing burns and treating burn injuries to prevent infection.
