Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

In this lesson, we will take a look at what carpal tunnel syndrome is and identify some causes and risk factors for developing it.  We will review signs and symptoms that are common with carpal tunnel syndrome, along with diagnostic testing that can be used to confirm this chronic musculoskeletal system disorder.  Finally we will talk about treatments, including surgical intervention, focusing on important nursing interventions for managing pain, preventing infection, and promoting safety.
