Colonoscopy

In this lesson, we will define what a colonoscopy is and how it is used to diagnose disorders of the lower gastrointestinal system.  We will discuss nursing assessments for before and after the procedure along with potential complications that nurses will monitor for.  Finally, we will identify some priority nursing interventions after the procedure to prevent complications.
