Concepts of Cancer

In this first lesson, we will review what cancer is and identify causes and risk factors for developing cancer.   We will also take a look at the staging and grading systems for cancer.  As you move through the lessons in the Oncology Nursing course, signs and symptoms, causes and risk factors, diagnostic testing, and treatment methods for specific types of cancer will be reviewed in more detail.  The Concepts of Cancer lesson is provided to introduce you to this information and to begin with general education on prevention and treatment of cancer.
