Concepts of the Endocrine System

Throughout this lesson, we will identify the structures and functions of the endocrine system.  We will review how the endocrine system regulates structures and glands throughout the body to maintain proper bodily functions.  We will briefly review some issues that can occur within the endocrine system, with more information will be given on specific disorders in other lessons.

Learning Objectives:

Upon the completion of this course, learners will be able to:

1. Describe the function of the endocrine system
2. Identify regulatory structures within the endocrine system
3. Discuss two general types of abnormalities in the endocrine system
4. Differentiate between direct and indirect monitoring
