In this lesson, we will examine Crohn’s disease and identify some causes and risk factors for developing it.   We will go over common signs and symptoms of the disease along with testing used to confirm its diagnosis. We will then look at treatment methods, including medications and surgical options, and priority nursing interventions for all forms of treatment.  Lastly, we will expand on important client education topics to support the management of symptoms of this chronic gastrointestinal disease.
