Deep Vein Thrombosis

In this lesson, we are going to go over deep vein thrombosis.  We will determine signs and symptoms along with diagnostic testing that will aid in confirming the diagnosis. This is a condition with potentially fatal consequences, so we will identify priority  assessments and interventions that nurses need to be familiar with. Finally we will talk about client education topics that are important for safety in addition to what nurses can do in the event complications of a deep vein thrombosis do occur.
