Diverticulitis

In this lesson, we are going to summarize diverticulitis and go over some common causes and risk factors for developing this type of inflammatory gastrointestinal disorder.  We will discuss signs and symptoms, diagnostic testing, and potential complications that nurses will assess for. Finally, we will review priority nursing interventions and important client education to manage symptoms and prevent further complications.
