Doppler Ultrasound

In this lesson we will discuss ultrasound and its uses and indications during pregnancy. We will also cover priority nursing interventions associated with assisting with this test.

At the end of this lesson, the learner will be able to:

1. Describe how ultrasound testing works and name 1-3 common diagnostic uses for ultrasound during pregnancy
2. Identify 3 nursing tasks to complete prior to transvaginal ultrasound, and 1-2 tasks to complete after the ultrasound
3. Name 2-3 indications (reasons) ultrasound may be completed during pregnancy
