Emphysema

In this overview, we’re going to discuss emphysema and look at causes and risk factors for developing this chronic respiratory disorder.  We will review signs and symptoms of the disorder as well as testing used to confirm it. Additionally, we will talk about treatments and medications and important client education topics to help prevent and manage symptoms of this disorder.  We will also look at priority nursing interventions focused on maintaining respiratory function and preventing complications.
