Excretory Urography

In this lesson, we will review excretory urography and determine how it can help detect disorders of renal system structures.  This is a semi-invasive procedure that has some important nursing interventions before and after the procedure that will be reviewed.  We will also address potential complications nurses need to assess for after the procedure.  Finally, we will also identify some contraindications for performing excretory urography based on pre-procedure nursing assessment data.
