In this lesson, we will identify what frostbite is and what causes it.  We will list degrees of frostbite, levels of skin affected by each degree, and assessment findings for each.  Next we will identify important nursing interventions for working with a client with frostbite and go over potential complications of skin, bone, and joint damage that can be caused by this condition.  Finally, we will review important client education topics on preventing and treating symptoms of frostbite.
