Gestational Hypertension

In this lesson we will define Gestational Hypertension and its risks to maternal and fetal health. We will discuss risk factors, common signs and symptoms, ways to assess, and priority nursing interventions.

1. Describe 2-3 types of Gestational Hypertension and 1-2 risks or complications of the condition for mother and baby.
2. Define difference between gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, and eclampsia.
3. Describe 2-3 risk factors for Gestational Hypertension.
4. Identify 2-3 signs and symptoms and related assessments, and 2-3 common interventions for Gestational Hypertension.
5. Describe how to manage a seizure.
