Gestational Trophoblastic Disease

In this lesson we will discuss what Gestational Trophoblastic Disease (GTD) is, causes and risk factors, and the signs and symptoms. Then we will explore diagnostic tests, nursing assessments, and the priority nursing interventions.

1. Describe Gestational Trophoblastic Disease and two types of GTD.
2. Describe 2-3 risk factors for Gestational Trophoblastic Disease .
3. Identify 2-3 signs and symptoms of GTD and related assessments, and 2-3 Common interventions for GTD. 
4. Identify two concomitant diagnoses that sometimes occur with GTD.
