Hemophilia

In this lesson, we will identify what hemophilia is and identify three types of this disorder.  We will briefly review the clotting cascade and how malfunctions of different pathways can lead to the various types of hemophilia.  We will then look into signs and symptoms and diagnostic testing used to confirm this disorder. Treatments and medications for symptoms management will also be addressed along with potential complications.  Finally, we will review important nursing interventions and client teaching topics focused on safety and prevention of complications..
