HIV/AIDS

In this lesson, we will summarize what HIV and AIDS are and risk factors for developing these chronic immune disorders.  We will also go over some testing that can help diagnose these disorders along with diagnostic used to monitor the progression of disease and effectiveness of treatments. We will identify some of the most common signs and symptoms of HIV and AIDS along with potential complications of both disorders.  Finally we will go through medications and treatment methods for HIV and AIDS, including important nursing interventions regarding prevention of transmission, side effects of medications, preventing infections, and managing complications.
