What is magnesium and what does it do in the body?  We are going to answer those questions in this lesson in addition to reviewing some causes and risk factors for developing hypermagnesemia, or high magnesium levels.  We will then review signs and symptoms that nurses will need to monitor for. Finally, we will discuss priority nursing interventions and medical treatments along with potential complications the condition can cause.
