In this lesson, we’re going to review another type of parathyroid disorder called hypoparathyroidism, or slow working parathyroid gland.  We will outline signs and symptoms nurses need to be familiar with in addition to testing used to confirm the disease. Lastly, we will go through medications and  treatments methods along with client education topics to promote health and prevent complications.

  5. Distinguish priority nursing assessments and interventions for clients with hypoparathyroidism
  6. Recognize treatments used to manage symptoms of hypoparathyroidism
