Lipid Profile

In this lesson, we will review a lipid profile is and what it is used to diagnose.  We will then review nursing interventions for drawing a lipid profile focusing on safety and preventing infection.  Finally, we will focus on normal lab values that nurses are responsible for memorizing to use as a guide for assessments and interventions.

2. Memorize the normal lab values of a lipid profile
3. Discuss the role of cholesterol in the development of cardiovascular disease
4. Recognize foods that are high in cholesterol
