In this lesson, we will review the liver and surrounding hepatic structures and identify causes and risk factors for developing liver cancer.  Additionally, we will go over common signs and symptoms of liver cancer and testing used to confirm the diagnosis.  We will then discuss dietary, medical, and surgical interventions that are available for treatment, including liver transplants.   Finally, we will review nursing interventions and dietary education that are important for preventing complications from surgery or medications.
