In this lesson, we will do a brief review of the respiratory system and then take a look at some different types of lung cancer and their prevalence.  Next we will identify both modifiable and nonmodifiable risk factors for developing lung cancer along with common signs and symptoms.  We will discuss testing and screening used to confirm a diagnosis of lung cancer and then move on to surgical and non-surgical treatment options.  Finally, we will go over priority nursing interventions throughout treatment for lung cancer to promote comfort and prevent complications.
