Mammogram

In this lesson, we will review what a mammogram is and how it is used to assess and diagnose abnormalities of the breast, including breast cancer.  We will introduce two types of mammograms and detail nursing interventions and client teaching before a mammogram is performed.  We will also discuss the importance of self breast examinations and recommendations for mammogram screenings.
