In this lesson, we will describe the female menstrual cycle and the hormones that regulate menstrual phases. We will discuss symptoms women may experience related to their cycles, and treatments

  1. Name and describe the four phases of the menstrual cycle: folicular, ovulatory, luteal, and menstruation
  2. Name and describe the functions of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH); Luteinizing Hormone (LH); Estrogen, and Progesterone
  3. Describe the cause of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) and common symptoms
  4. Identify 5 or more symptom management suggestions for PMS
  5. Describe why age may be an important assessment for a female
