Ovarian Cancer

In this lesson, we will review the female reproductive system and then identify some causes and risks for developing ovarian cancer.  We will identify three types of ovarian cancer along with the staging system used to monitor metastasis.  Signs and symptoms will be discussed along with diagnostics used to detect the disease.  Finally, we will look at the medical and surgical treatment options for this type of cancer along with priority nursing interventions and client education for after surgery.
