Postpartum Complications

In this lesson, we will start with Postpartum Complications, including hemorrhage, the most serious complication. Then we will explore the causes and risk factors, and how Complications affect mother. We will discuss assessments and the priority nursing interventions.

1. Describe postpartum hemorrhage, how it occurs, 1-2 signs of it, and 2-3 related nursing interventions. 
2. Describe why this is an emergency.
3. Describe 2-3 risk factors for Postpartum Complications.
4. Identify 2-3 other Postpartum Complications, signs and symptoms of each, and 1-2 nursing interventions for each.
