Schizophrenia

In this lesson, we will explain the diagnosis of Schizophrenia along with different types of the mental health disorder.  We will review both positive and negative symptoms, including abnormal thought and speech processes common with Schizophrenia and how different medications treat different types of symptoms. We will also look at causes and risk factors for developing Schizophrenia.  We will focus then on the importance of nursing interventions including treatments and medications. It will be important to review the medications and potential side effects of medications carefully within this lesson.
