Sigmoidoscopy

In this lesson, we will define what a sigmoidoscopy is and how it is used to diagnose disorders of the lower gastrointestinal system.  We will discuss nursing interventions for before and after the procedure along with potential complications that nurses will monitor for.  Finally, we will identify some priority nursing assessments and interventions after the procedure to prevent complications.
