In this lesson, we will identify what a stroke is, different types of strokes, and causes and risk factors for experiencing this cerebrovascular accident.  We will look at common signs and symptoms that indicate a stroke is occuring in addition to priority nursing interventions to support a client in experiencing the best possible recovery.  We will look at priority treatments and medications used to prevent serious complications of a stroke and also at the necessary aftercare for clients who have had a stroke based on the severity of residual symptoms.
