Transesophageal Echocardiogram

In this lesson, we will define what a transesophageal echocardiogram is and how it can help detect disorders of the cardiovascular system.  We will assess how this procedure differs from a traditional echocardiogram and introduce some important nursing interventions before and after the procedure.  Finally, we will address important client education topics for after the procedure aimed at safety and preventing complications.
