Types of Ostomy

In this lesson, we are going to review what an ostomy is and some reasons one would be medically necessary.  We will discuss different types of ostomies and some differences in their output and maintenance. We will discuss post surgical interventions along with priority nursing interventions for before and after surgery.  Finally, we will review client education on stoma and ostomy care to prevent infection and complications.
